CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE sponsors the Executive Master’s in Mining Engineering at the Turin Polytechnic

CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE recently committed to sponsoring the Executive Master’s in Mining Engineering applied to ornamental stone quarries organized by the Turin Polytechnic. This educational project is supported by the Marble Foundation and also sponsored by Confindustria Livorno Massa Carrara, ANIM – the Italian Association of Mining Engineers – and the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, the institution responsible for the conservation and development of the Milan Cathedral.

The Executive Master’s the Turin Polytechnic is offering stems from the need to respond to the growing job market demand for professionals specialized in mining engineering because, to date, stone extraction from mountain quarries has always been a great engineering challenge.

In fact, the Executive Master’s will not only provide the bases for the various disciplines involved in mining engineering but also applicative content enabling students to gain the practical skills of interest to many people involved in the stone extraction sector.

The course will conclude with a 120-hour internship with companies in the ornamental stone sector or engineering firms or public boards planning and overseeing mining work.

The Executive Master’s is addressed to graduates of three- or five-year degree courses in the engineering and/or other technical-scientific fields who are interested in acquiring the specific expertise required to work in  the technical context of ornamental stone quarries.

The course will begin in mid-May 2021 and the first three weeks of lessons will be entirely in remote.
