CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE has confirmed its sponsorship of the third edition of the Master’s course in Mining Engineering applied to ornamental stone quarries promoted and organized by the Turin Polytechnic with the support of the Fondazione Marmo, a non-profit foundation.
The Executive Master’s course stems from growing demand for specific skills in the sector and from current job market needs. The educational aim of the course is to present the scientific and technological innovations in the ornamental stone extraction sector, with consequent reflections of the professional work of technical personnel.
The course is addressed to first- and second-level engineers, geologists and graduates in scientific and technical studies who wish to acquire specialized knowledge of ornamental stone quarry mining. Thanks to commitments from stone companies, engineering firms and public and private Italian organizations working in mining engineering, the previous courses witnessed the valorization of underground resources having considerable economic and strategic value.
In fact, classroom and on-site lessons developed great managerial and technical skills, demonstrating the importance of investing in creating extraction sector specialists. Higher education in this field is crucial not only to guaranteeing the future of the industry and the competitiveness of its companies but also to maintaining Italy’s technological leadership in the international stone context.
The course will be held from May to December 2024, with 180 hours of lessons – in both classroom and quarry – and 120 hours of curricular internship.
