In the Construction sector, the natural stone supply chain has long been a focus of attention for Algerian government authorities, who have noted the significant technological and know-how needs for the growth of the Algerian industry in this sector.

According to data processed by the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Study Center, in 2023 Algeria imported Italian machinery, equipment, and technology for processing natural stones worth a total of 29,486,506 euros, an increase of 39.2% compared to 2022.

Algeria has also confirmed itself as the seventh global buyer of raw Italian natural stone materials, with imports from Italy amounting to 8,240,370 euros. Adding Algerian imports of processed and semi-processed “Made in Italy” natural stone products, the total comes to 11.2 million euros.
