EXPO CIHAC is Mexico and Latin America’s key trade show, showcasing broad-spectrum innovations in the construction, architecture, and interior design industries. Mexico, with its robust economic fundamentals and strategic position toward the U.S. market, offers privileged access to the entire NAFTA region (now known as USMCA). It is a growing economy and a reference point for all of Latin America.

In 2023, the Mexican construction industry’s value exceeded $120 billion, marking a 17.2% increase over 2022. Construction remains one of Mexico’s main economic sectors and the largest by market value in Latin America. In sectoral trade, Mexico increased imports of processed and semi-processed marble and natural stone from Italy by 12.3% in 2023, reaching nearly €20 million. Overall, Mexico’s natural stone imports in 2023 amounted to €155 million, primarily composed of processed and semi-processed products.

Additionally, in the first half of 2024, Italian exports of technologies for the extraction and processing of natural stone to Mexico grew by 6.8%, reaching €8 million. This makes Mexico the fourteenth most important market by value for “Made in Italy” machines, tools, abrasives, and equipment for natural stone processing.
