From May 7 to 11 the Palais des Expositions in Algiers hosted the 2023 edition of BATIMATEC, the international building, building materials and public works show. For a number of years the Algerian event has been the tradeshow of reference on the African continent for building and infrastructure processes and technologies. According to data furnished by the organizers, this year the event had more than 900 companies exhibiting – 350 from abroad – on an area of some 30,000 square meters.
For BATIMATEC 2023 ICE-Agency – with the support of the Italian Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry (MAECI) – organized a collective exhibit of Italian companies supplying machines for building, hoisting and earth movement, which included, together with CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE, 25 companies in the stone-working machinery and equipment sector:

The Italian presence at the fair was welcomed also by the Italian ambassador to Algeria, Giovanni Pugliese, who, accompanied by CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE President Federico Fraccaroli, the association’s Honorary President Flavio Marabelli and the Director of ICE-Agency Algeria, Gabriele Barone, during inauguration day for the event visited the Italian pavilion and greeted the companies in rhe techno-stone sector.
Exhibiting at BATIMATEC 2023 was a further occasion for positioning stone technologies Made in Italy on the dynamic Algerian market. On the basis of data processed by the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center, last year Algeria imported Italian machines, installations and equipment for extracting and processing natural stone for worth of more than 21 million euros, up 7.7% from 2021.
