On September 27, the seminar “MARMOintelligente: Solutions Supporting Efficiency, Servitization, Sustainability, and Innovation in Processes and Products” took place, organized by CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE at Marmo+Mac 2024 in The Plus Theatre, in collaboration with MAXFONE, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, and SIEMENS.
Structured as a series of presentations followed by a final discussion panel for further insights, the seminar explored exciting innovations introduced by new capabilities related to process data management in a unique digital ecosystem. This ecosystem integrates specific solutions for IoT Interconnection and Integration, Connectivity, Machine Learning, Predictive and Prescriptive Maintenance, Energy Monitoring, Augmented Reality, Chat GPT, and Artificial Intelligence applied to production.
This complex and challenging scenario is expected to increasingly impact every manufacturing sector in the coming years, including the stone industry, as evidenced by the strong interest shown at the event.

Speakers included: Paolo Errico (MAXFONE); Luca Tiozzo Netti (SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC); Luca Caselli and Luca Merzagora (SIEMENS). The introduction and moderation of the event were entrusted to Flavio Marabelli, Honorary President with Delegation for Institutional Relations of CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE.
This diverse panel highlighted how the use of already available technologies can enhance what might be termed the “natural intelligence of stone,” within the broader context of energy and sustainability transition in the stone and stone-tech supply chain.
