Italian stone again stars at this year’s SURFACE DESIGN SHOW in London

February 6 to 8 were the dates at London’s Business Design Centre for the 2024 edition of the SURFACE DESIGN SHOW, the United Kingdom’s main tradeshow devoted to coverings/surfaces for interiors and exteriors, with 190 exhibitors and more than 6,000 specialized visitors.

Successful again this year in image and inflow terms was the Italian Pavillion promoted and coordinated by CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE in collaboration with ICE-Agency for the London show, confirmed as a privileged showcase for presenting marbles, granites, other ornamental stones and complementary products Made in Italy to a select public of architects and interior designers, The Italian collective of stone sector companies at the SURFACE DESIGN SHOW 2024 was composed of:

In support of Italian participation at the SURFACE DESIGN SHOW 2024 the association and ICE-Agency also provided an inviting official lounge/Meeting Point Italia with information and assistance services for exhibiting and visiting companies. The qualified Italian presence at the show was welcomed with satisfaction also by the London ICE Director, Giovanni Sacchi and by the head advisor for business and commerce of the Italian embassy, Dino Sorrentino, who, together with the Honorary President of CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE, Flavio Marabelli, visited the Italian Pavillion and greeted the participating companies.

On the statistical level we mention that in the first ten months of 2023 the United Kingdom was the fifth destination market for stone materials Made in Italy, with imports worth nearly 50 million euros. We remind readers that in 2022 the UK’s imports of ornamental stone from Italy were worth 60 million (data from the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center).
