From April 17 to 22 CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE was present at the BAU show, the international reference event for the building sector held in Munich, Germany at the Trade Fair Center Messe Munchen. At BAU 2023 the association promoted – together with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and ICE-Agency – a collective exhibit of Italian stone sector companies, whose participants were:

Inside the Italia area at the German tradeshow the Association and ICE-Agency also hosted an inviting official Meeting Point with information and assistance services for the Italian companies either exhibiting at or visiting the fair.
As we know, BAU is an international biennial show, specifically targeting architecture and building materials and technologies and is Europe’s most important building show as well as one of the most important worldwide. Thanks to the ample range of products displayed, the event attracts various kinds of qualified visitors such as architects, civil engineers, producers of building materials, builders and planners.
According to official statistics processed by the CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center, in 2022 Italy’s exports to Germany of marbles, granites and natural stones in general – both finished and semi-finished – increased in value by 13% from the previous year, to 163 million euros, making Germany the number-two buyer of finished stone products Made in Italy. The raw stone products imported from Italy also increased, by 11% for a total of 13.7 million euros.
In 2022 Germany was also the third destination market for Italian machines, installations and equipment for quarrying and working natural stone, up 11% from 2021 for exports worth 61 million euros.
