From October 12 to 14 the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City hosted the 32nd edition of EXPO CIHAC, the reference Latin American event for the construction sector. ICE-Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE coordinated and promoted a collective Italian exhibit at EXPO CIHAC 2022, setting up an Italia Area of more than 300 square meters, where 25 stone and techno-stone companies displayed their products:

We remind readers that EXPO CIHAC is Latin America’s reference event for the building industry, architecture and interior design. This year’s edition – again in person after a two-year halt due to the pandemic – had more than 220 Mexican and foreign exhibitors and drew some 17,000 professional visitors.
On the statistical level, we mention that in the first half of 2022 Italian makers of machines, installations, equipment and consumables for natural stone quarrying and processing registered a 51.2% increase from 2021 in sales to Mexico, for worth of 7.6 million euros. The regained dynamism of the Mexican building sector was furthermore an important opportunity for producers of ornamental stones Made in Italy, which also in the first half of this year exported finished stone products worth some 7 million euros to this Central American country (CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE Studies Center data).
