This year Italy will also take on the role of “Guest Country of Honor” of the exhibition.

The initiative – promoted, among others, by Confindustria Marmomacchine at the invitation of the fair organizers – includes a series of events and communication activities aimed at promoting the excellence of the “Made in Italy” stone industry supply chain.

The inauguration ceremony of the initiative – to which all representatives of the Italian companies exhibiting at the fair were invited for a welcome toast – took place at the Italy / Confindustria Marmomacchine Meeting Point on the opening day of the exhibition.

It is worth recalling that, in addition to being the world’s leading country for the production and processing of stone products, China has also confirmed itself, in the first eleven months of 2025, according to data processed by the Centro Studi Confindustria Marmomacchine, as the primary destination market for Italian raw stone materials, with imports exceeding €225 million, marking an increase of 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

To the figure for imports of raw stone materials from Italy, we must also add imports of standard and special processed stone materials, which in the first eleven months of 2025 reached €8 million, plus an additional €8 million in exports to China of Italian machinery and equipment for the extraction and processing of natural stones.

Overall, the export value to China of “Made in Italy” stone industry supply chain products therefore amounts to more than €240 million (again referring to the same period mentioned above).
