CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE has made available to its members the SCIP (Substances of Concern in Products) guidelines written by FEDERMACCHINE, the federation of associations of makers of Italian instrumental goods, to which Confindustria Marmomacchine belongs as representative of makers of machinery, installations and technologies for extracting and processing natural stones.
The document, written by an ad hoc FEDERMACCHINE work group that availed itself of collaboration with ICIM Consulting, is a useful guide for sector companies and is intended to clarify the main applicative questions of a vast and complex directive like the SCIP Notification, and at the same time make it possible to conduct an initial analysis and evaluation of machinery in order to comply with the needed and cogent operations required regarding the subject.
The SCIP Notification, derived from application of Directive 2018/852/EU on Waste, from its introduction has in fact proved difficult for companies, on both the interpretive and use levels, and the purpose of the FEDERMACCHINE guidelines – presented and described during a webinar held on January 8 – is to help companies handle the many-faceted subject, also through creation of explanatory templates.
All effective members of CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE can download the document from the private area of its website – www.assomarmomacchine.com – or request it from the association’s secretarial office (diffusione@assomarmomacchine.com).
