{"id":9876,"date":"2021-06-18T09:02:52","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T09:02:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.assomarmomacchine.com\/?p=9876"},"modified":"2021-08-25T08:29:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-25T08:29:34","slug":"an-occasion-for-natural-stones-eu-consultation-on-non-agricultural-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.assomarmomacchine.com\/en\/news\/an-occasion-for-natural-stones-eu-consultation-on-non-agricultural-products\/","title":{"rendered":"An occasion for natural stones: EU consultation on non-agricultural products"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The consultation the European Commission\nrecently launched to gather the viewpoints of companies, organizations, experts\nand citizens regarding the problems connected to existent legal protection, in\nthe internal market context, for authentic and territory-rooted\nnon-agricultural products, as well as the benefits and risks of possible EU\nstandardizing work to control and apply a future EU system to protect such\nproducts, could be an important occasion for finally arriving at protection for\nauthentically natural ornamental stones extracted from and deeply rooted in the\ncultures of their various territories, also with potential fallout on the\nability to protect the original nomenclatures tied to places of origin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultation, in which it is possible to\nparticipate and respond by July 22, 2021, was launched by the Commission with\nthe intent of collecting the comments of a vast number of stakeholders, i.e.:\npublic authorities (federal\/national, regional and local of member states and third\ncountries); consumers (citizens and consumer organizations); producers\n(persons, companies &#8211; especially SME -, associations or organizations); law\nworkers and exponents of academia; other interested parties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the Italian ornamental stone association,\nConfindustria Marmomacchine has already invited its members to respond to the\nquestionnaire at the basis of the survey in order to take the largest possible\nnumber of comments to the European Commission showing the stone sector\u2019s\ninterest in pursuing this subject.
